Dwight Stone
Dwight began ministry in Poland in 1997, working with and discipling young believers. Eventually, God would lead him to ministry in Romania, where he helped plant a church in Bucharest and establish a ministry team of national believers.
The Lord opened the door to ministry among the Roma (Gypsy) people in the city as well as in smaller towns and villages to the southeast, including Budesti and Curcani where the ECM team has planted two churches. Dwight continues to aid and advise the ECM team in their ongoing outreach and church-planting efforts in unreached areas of Romania, and carries on the work of developing, encouraging, and equipping Romanian believers as he partners with them to reach these areas with the Gospel. Dwight also works with church leaders all across Europe and especially in other parts of Eastern Europe to see the Gospel spread far and wide.

Ion Vasile
Ion has served as the pastor of Maranatha Baptist Church in Campina, Romania since 1989. As pastor of this church 70 miles north of of the capital of Bucharest, Ioan shepherds this congregation to know, love, and glorify God through worship, fellowship, and Christian testimony as they reach and disciple people. Under Ion’s leadership, Maranatha also takes part in several ongoing local and global outreach projects including a children’s club, partnership with local evangelism efforts, offering support for other local churches, and a ministry partnership with churches in Serbia, Armenia, Greece, and India.

Gheorghe Botofei
George is of the Roma (Gypsy) ethnicity within the nation of Romania. He was raised in a orphanage and led to our Lord and discipled by a pastor from Ohio. The ministry group George worked with in another area of Romania heard that ECM needed a Roma man for the work in the towns and villages outside of Bucharest, and they sent George to us. George now pastors Filadelfia Baptist Church of Budesti, 50 miles southeast of Bucharest. He preaches faithfully and with much zeal to an ever-increasing number of people from these towns and villages, including mostly youth and widows.
The Lord has gifted George greatly in enthusiasm and in the ability to preach, sing, and encourage both crowds of people and smaller groups, and he uses these gifts to do outreach in the streets, in homes, and disciple those who come to the church. He has developed a big following amongst unschooled youth, who can neither read nor write. He and others from ECM spend time teaching those youth in all the areas of life, focusing on God’s Word. George also has working relationships with Gypsy churches in Serbia and southern Romania.
